On the First Day of the First Grade...
Cam started 1st Grade today!

Last night he happily loaded up tons of turkey on his sandwich while making his own lunch for today. This morning he put on his new clothes, and we walked the mile and a half to school.

He's in an integrated K-3rd Grade classroom. There are 80 kids in his class this year! He has 4 teachers and he seemed really excited to see them and his friends from last year. There are lots of kids from the LDS Church in his class, which is awesome. I couldn't fit all the kids in the big class picture, but I got most of them. Cam is easy to spot: he's the one that stood just as I snapped the picture. He must have remembered just as that moment that he forgot to put his attendance stick in the can. That, or he just figured it was Mom taking yet another picture and that Mom got plenty of pictures of him already that morning.

Wow, sounds like it should be a fun, interesting year. Is that class at Frederiksen?
How does that integrated classroom work with so many children and four teachers? Do they break and go to their separate corners at some time during the day? How is crowd control handled or are they all angels and just there for the learning.
Cool idea for school. Lily has 37 kids in her class with two teachers...she got lost the first week, and they didnt' even know she was gone...it's a lot of kids. :)
Marianne,
I've been reading your blog now for a month or so... I'm assuming it's you who sent me the good reads invite... without Marisa B or Kim D on your friends list, I wouldv'e wondered for sure! Hope to connect more and send some good book recommendations my way!
